About the Author

Captain George W. Jackson (a.k.a. G. William Weatherly) graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin and was commissioned in June 1969. During his 30 year career, he achieved exceptional credentials in the Navy nuclear program.

His last assignment was as Chairman of the Joint Military Operations Department at the Naval War College in Newport for five years as well as holding the Lockwood Chair of Undersea Warfare. As such he was responsible for one third of the curriculum and the Joint Professional Military Education of approximately 2,000 mid-grade and senior officers from all branches of the military and select civilian agencies.
